From Brockley, South London, Selwyn got into the soul scene at the age of 15/16 going to clubs like Royalty, Crackers, 100 club , Global Village, Stage 3, Goldmine, Zero6, Lacy Lady etc complete with beermat !!!!!

Selwyn attended the Caister soul weekenders from 1979 to 1989. Then headed back again to Caister in the 90's.

He started to DJ at 16 after a few years as a roadie with a mobile disco doing weddings, birthdays etc and then got into clubs starting a residency at the Plaza  and the Phoenix night clubs in London's West End, moving on to a Fri & Sat residency at Tattershall Castle on the Embankment in London for many years, also playing at Samantha's (New Burlington St), Lacey's (Leicester Sq) and various other clubs in and around London.  Selwyn started on pirate radio in the 80's with JWT radio for a while, until a move took him to TKO radio where he presented the late late breakfast show on Sat/Sun 9-11 and then weekdays 9-11, but when the Pirates finished up, he carried on in the clubs for a few years till deciding to hang up the headphones and mic to concentrate on other ventures.

After a long break, he was given the opportunity in 2015 to come back to radio (and losing the perm!), Selwyn joined Zero radio and couldn't wait to put the headphones back on and start playing again!  With this came some great opportunities to played at various soul hoilday events in Malta, Corfu and Rhodes (greece), Oladeniz and Maramis (turkey),  Johannesburg (south Africa), Lanzarotte and Ibiza. As well as many UK events such as Margate Soul Festival and Soul Family Affair.

'I have never lost the love of music and hope you enjoy the mix of music on the Boutique Soul Week!' Selwyn
