JIM the SYRUP
My first experience of trying to be a DJ stems back to the mid 70s, playing using two record players at youth clubs and at house parties. Forward fast to the 80s where I started to take things a little more serious, playing pubs and clubs in the Reading area, however at that time it was difficult to find a venue where I could play my true love of soul and Jazz. Beadles wine bar on a Thursday night gave me a chance to drop a few in whilst playing mainly 80s grooves, later I was offered a Saturday lunchtime set at Beadles where I could play 80% soul, Jazz etc.
The Majestic in Reading was a godsend where I joined up with Caister legend Sean French. The Saturday afternoon sessions where we played 100% the right stuff (at last).
The rest is just history, more bars and clubs up and down the country, weekenders and abroad playing my love of soul and Jazz
Love
